Yoga Session Helps New Students at Rohilkhand University Build Focus and Manage Stress

Bareilly: A special yoga session was organised at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University as part of the orientation programme for newly admitted students of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET). The session was held at 8 am with the objective of helping students improve concentration, strengthen memory and retention, and manage stress and anxiety during the initial phase of their university life.

The session was coordinated by Dr Shailesh Kumar Chaurasia of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and conducted by Dr Set Van, an expert from the university’s Department of Philosophy/Yoga.

Under Dr Van’s guidance, students practised various pranayama techniques, yoga asanas and meditation exercises. The activities helped create an energetic and positive atmosphere, with students participating enthusiastically throughout the session.

IET Dean Prof. Archana Gupta attended the programme and provided guidance to the students. She encouraged them to make yoga a regular part of their daily routine, emphasising that it is beneficial not only for physical fitness but also for maintaining mental balance and well-being.

Her motivational address added to the significance of the session and encouraged students to adopt healthy practices as they begin their academic journey.

The programme concluded with an expression of gratitude to all participants, faculty members and non-teaching staff whose cooperation and dedication contributed to the successful organisation of the yoga session. Organisers said the activity became a meaningful and memorable component of the orientation programme.
